In anticipation i wait until tomorrow morning when I will drive to Piapot and take possession of my new Saloon and Hotel. It is crazy and I often wonder what I have done, changing the city life that I know so well for a tiny town where I will be the only business for 25 or more km around.
No convenience stores or Dairy Queen burgers on the way home yet I will trade a new life were people are what they seem and my social life will come to me. It's a clean slate and one hell of a way to test my skills at promotion, business management and organization. I imagine that I will also get to test my skills at various renovation projects throughout my time living there and hopefully it will provide me with years of solid service, great stories and a unique experience that could not be attained in any other way but taking a risk and trying something that is outside the scope of everything I know about life and give me a new perspective on what is important and which values I really hold dear.
This blog will serve as a story board of the good times, stories, progress and innovation of the hotel under my wing as my new personal project. I hope that I can help to revive Piapot into a destination location for bikers, cowboys, city folks and any one else curious about western heritage, looking for a cold beer, a cheap and clean room or just to explore.
